Dream Bird Cookie Co. was established in Covid-19, as a collaboration between Thunderbird, a bar located in SE Portland and Dream Cakes, a wedding cake company located in NE Portland. Two highly unlikely combinations.

They already had a standing relationship prior to the pandemic but as the weeks went on, so did their thinking caps. In the wake of the pandemic both places pivoted their business models to either to-go orders or online sales and that’s when the fun began…

Dream Cakes has a friend who was tired of doing dishes, didn’t like her cookie recipe, was tired of not being able to find flour, and just wanted to have ready to-go dough in the freezer for fresh baked cookies. As a surprise Dream Cakes started making her friend some cookie dough, in the midst of scaling out this cookie dough she gets a text from Thunderbird, asking if she’d be interested in making cookie dough that people could bake at home?

That text message was responded with a photo of cookie dough and a bunch of mind explosion/crystal ball emoji’s!!! A week later Dream Cakes started making cookies dough and Thunderbird started delivering it to your ovens.

Just like that Dream Bird Cookie Co. rose to the occasion to bring so much joy to Portlanders during really strange times.
